The Popularity of Digital Cameras in Photomicrography

The universal availability of high-resolution digital cameras at fairly low prices have made photography with microscope easier than with the traditional film. Coupled with the latest developments in software, digital imaging now offers photo micrography facility for images that were not possible few years ago.  Anyone can capture high-quality images, irrespective of skill or experience. The results can be instantly viewed, which allows immediate rectification of errors if any and capturing a new image. The digital photo micrograph can be processed by software's to create or analyse images that previously only the professionals could do or were not possible at all.

Digital image sensor
The digital image sensor plays an important role in digital imaging. Every digital camera has a film like a device, known as the sensor, which captures the light coming in via a lens to form an image. Sensor size is important in photography because it greatly impacts the image quality. The camera with a larger sensor will produce better quality images, this is because photo receptors or pixels are larger on the bigger sensors.
Resolution and image quality
The number of pixels on a sensor and their individual size varies according to the camera manufacturers and the resolution of the camera is also determined by it. Camera's resolution is measured in megapixels and both image file resolution and monitor resolution are measured in pixels per inch (PPI). The bottom line is, the higher the camera's resolution the better the image quality.
Choice of digital camera
Almost any digital camera can be utilised to record images from the microscope, just attach digital camera microscopeadapter and capture images in high resolution. If the camera is to be used for general photography, then a conventional camera can be used. However, if you need camera specifically for the microscope, then a specialised camera system is appropriate.
Instead of a digital camera, you can use your iPhone as it also captures high-quality images. You just need to buy iPhone 6 plus microscope adapter and capture or record images the same way as in digital camera.
